How to Multistream

|

We're excited to announce the first major update to the Zeacon Live Studio (ZLS) platform since our beta launched back in early November. Users of the ZLS platform can now simultaneously multistream to most of their favorite social media websites.

With the capability to live stream to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, LinkedIn, and more, our live streamers can expand their reach online to the millions of users on these platforms and intelligently connect with more of their audience online.

What is Multistreaming?

Multistreaming is the ability to live stream to two or more sources at the same time with little to no delay. To be more specific, our multistreaming feature utilizes real-time messaging protocol (RTMP) in order to send video, audio, and data to different platforms that support this functionality.

Thankfully, most, if not all, of the major social media platforms accept RTMP sources and will happily provide you with a RTMP URL and stream key to live stream directly to your specific account on each social media platform.

How Can it Help You?

Now that you know how multistreaming works on ZLS, why should you even care at all? Well, multistreaming is one of the best ways to easily increase your reach online.

When you are live streaming to only one website, you’re limiting yourself to how many users are on that website and the user base that is on that website at that given time. If you’re multistreaming to multiple platforms, you’re accessing more of your potential user base who might be on different platforms at the same time and making it more convenient for them to view your content.

For example, if you’re a YouTuber with a strong following on Instagram, live streaming to only YouTube would limit you to whoever is on YouTube at the time. If you were to multistream to Instagram as well as YouTube, then you’d give your audience on Instagram a chance to join in on the fun.

Multistreaming to ZLS is very simple, straightforward, and could be completed in a couple of steps.

  2. Open the Studio View of that live stream
  3. Click on the broadcast icon on the upper left of the screen located next to the link icon
  4. Click on “Add Destination”
  5. Pick a nickname for the source and put in the RTMP URL and your specific stream key.
  6. Verify the information is correct and click on add destination
  7. Finally, before starting your live stream, make sure “Multistream” is turned on to the left of your “Go Live” button on the studio view.
